A scenic loop trail that has views of Bryce Canyon, Glen Canyon and other amazing places. After about 2 miles the trail comes to an old road. Turn left following the road to the south. When you see the pink cliffs above you to the north you are just below Canaan Peak which is a great campsite.

Little Presque is an amazing place to hang out for a day in both the summer and winter. Its has it all, beautiful sand beach, rough cliffs, and majestic forest. To get to the Island there is about a 50 meter walk in waist deep water to get there. In the winter there is an ice bridge you can cross but be careful. The cliff jumping ranges from 10-25 feet.
To get to Little Presque you have to go through waist deep water for about 100 or so yards. The trail loops around the island. Towards the back of the island is where most of the cliff jumping is at. Little Presque Isle is just off of 550 and there is a little sign just before the turn off.
When you get to the end of the main trail turn right away from the river and go down the smaller trail. About 400 yards down the trail there will be a rope hanging in the water on the other side of the river. This is were people jump in. There is a rope on the same side that people jump in the crack to the right or swim now a little and there is an easier place to climb up about 50 yards down stream.
Rum Runners is a beautiful place to hang out for a day. The hike to get there is along lake Superior shoreline. This section of shoreline is amazing and I suggest that people explore along the shoreline. Park at Sugar Loaf and use the trail to the left. Take that all the way to the lake. Rum Runners is to the left.
Dead River Falls is a series of small waterfalls and rapids. The parking lot will be fenced in with a large metal hinge gate closing off the hill. To get to the falls you must walk around the gate. You do not have to worry about trespassing here. For reassurance, there will be a wooden sign near the base of the hill with "Dead River Falls" carved into it. Once you have hiked up the hill overlooking the power plant you can travel down to the river. Upon first contact you can see the rapids. Traveling upstream will bring you to the smaller falls and eventually to two large and spectacular waterfalls. There is no set distance for the hike as you can continue hiking the river as far as you would like.
Black Rocks is a section of Presque Isle Park which lies inside the city limits of Marquette. It is a 5-10 minute drive from the center of the city, and provides a wide array of day/nighttime activities including hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and great cliff jumping. Unfortunately, camping is not permitted within the area of Black Rocks. Another portion of Presque Isle Park is Sunset Point which, as the name displays, is a fantastic spot for watching the beautiful Lake Superior sunsets. There are also a series of gazebos, grills, and benches along the waterside hiking paths that allow for a full day of leisure and fun.
