The trail goes around the west side of the lake. The trail follows the side of a ridge through a boulder field and you have to navigate a few switchbacks to North Lake. The last 3 miles of the trail are steep and more technical reaching 10,700 feet. Camping is prohibited within a quarter mile of Lonesome Lake.

On the west side of Teal Lake there is a little path that is only a 10 minute hike to the rope swing. When driving on 41 turn on Hickory St. Follow the road through the park and watch for signs to Teal Lake Lodge. There is a parking lot at the end of the road.
Dead River Falls is a series of small waterfalls and rapids. The parking lot will be fenced in with a large metal hinge gate closing off the hill. To get to the falls you must walk around the gate. You do not have to worry about trespassing here. For reassurance, there will be a wooden sign near the base of the hill with "Dead River Falls" carved into it. Once you have hiked up the hill overlooking the power plant you can travel down to the river. Upon first contact you can see the rapids. Traveling upstream will bring you to the smaller falls and eventually to two large and spectacular waterfalls. There is no set distance for the hike as you can continue hiking the river as far as you would like.
